Caldas da Rainha
D. Leonor Woods
The Queen D. Leonor Woods, along with D. Carlos I Park are privileged environmental areas.
It is there that we can find important underground water resources of irreplaceable value.
With the development of Hydrotherapy and its association with tourism in the late nineteenth century, the Queen Woods was another of the spaces re-qualified by Rodrigo Berquó, though not so dramatically.
Located in the surrounding areas of the Thermal Hospital complex, the D. Leonor Wood construction plans to correspond to a structure of balconies, spread over leafy boulevards, where there is gathered a significant number of flora as in the D. Carlos I Park.
A must visit for nature lovers, it is also mandatory for all of those who appreciate the harmony between city and nature, showing that the coexistence between the two is possible and recommended.
Visit the D. Leonor Wood and enjoy one of the quietest walks that our city has to offer.
